The Creative Arts Ministry is a safe community for artists of all mediums at Gateway Church and in Austin. Creative Arts strives to bridge the gap between the church and artistic community by bringing arts into the worship experience and reaching out into the community while building into artists.
Artistic Community
The artistic community at Gateway is passionate about embracing creativity as a form of communication and self discovery. It strives to start conversations around Gateway and Austin through their art by way of installations, group projects, and gallery shows. The group meets regularly to encourage one another in their creative pursuits as well as learn together and listen to guest speakers. Email the Artistic Community
Drama
The drama team makes its appearance at Gateway through full screen and stage productions and acting classes. Actors can use their talents in a variety of outlets including short dramatic presentations for Sunday morning services and Kids Quest. Classes for beginning and intermediate level actors are available in addition to serving opportunities for advanced actors. Email Drama
Media
The media team sets the scene lights, records, and edits films used in the other ministries at Gateway including short vides for Sunday morning services. Volunteers often begin at a production assistant before assuming another role on the team. Besides doing work for Gateway the media team also blends their talents to produce shorts that have earned film festival awards. Email Media
Music
One of the most visible art forms at Gateway is music. If Austin is truly the "Live Music Capital of the World," wouldn't it make sense to have world-class music in church, as well as on 6th street? At Gateway, we like to use a wide range of music, from your favorite secular artists to progressive praise music.
