How can you get plugged in to what’s happening through Gateway in the city and around the world?
- We have commitments to serve with epicenter leaders in Zambia, the Dominican Republic, and India. Throughout the year Gateway will announce opportunities to participate in service projects or trips to support these relationships.
- We are also reaching into Austin to partner with organizations that are focused and committed to a particular area or demographic. Scroll down for a list of local serving opportunities.
- Short-term Serving Trips: To support our global partnerships as well as relationships with ministries in the US, Gateway periodically organizes short-term trips. If you would like more information about weekend and week-long serving opportunities, please email mobilization@gatewaychurch.com.

Interfaith Hospitality Network (part of Foundation for the Homeless)
June 28 – July 4th, 2009
(Recommended for the Discover Season)
This program utilizes church facilities throughout Austin to provide housing for homeless families. One week each month, families reside in a church facility while the parents work, the children go to school, and the entire family works themselves out of homelessness into a permanent housing situation. Gateway is partnering with two other churches (one north / one south) to assist these families. You can volunteer to bring a meal to the families (breakfast or dinner), spend the night at the other church facilities as a host, or assist with set up / clean up. Exact times will vary - depending on when our partner churches house the families. To sign up go to http://www1.mysignup.com/foundation_for_the_homeless or for more information email: mobilization@gatewaychurch.com

Volunteers might cook, serve food, clean up, talk to homeless people, hand out bus passes, etc. The breakfasts are held at the First United Methodist Church at 1201 Lavaca Street from 5:15 to 7:00am.
