"I’m checking things out...

Either I’m not a Christ-follower, or I’ve very recently become one. I have questions, but I want more than easy answers. I want to get to know people and find out what this is really all about. I may be interested in a small group. I may be open to serving. I’m open to learning. Just don’t ask me to do anything weird.”

GROW

If you're in the "Discover" season, you're checking out faith and probably have lots of questions.  You might have philosophical questions about the existence of God, practical questions about how following Jesus plays out in daily life, or relational questions about how your friends will react when you tell them you're interested in matters of faith. The three GROW opportunities listed here are all places to help you find answers as real as those questions. Read the short descriptions of each opportunity and then click the links for more info or to register.

Starting Gate:

Are you looking for low-commitment, easy-to-attend way to meet others at Gateway and understand some of the basics of Christian faith? If so, registering for Starting Gate may provide you with the information and inspiration you're looking for.  Starting Gate is a 2-week experience, held around normal Sunday service times, and is suitable for people at any spiritual season. The next round starts soon, so click here for more info or to sign up.

Small Groups:

If you're looking to develop more lasting connections to others at Gateway and have meaningful discussions about your real questions, joining a Small Group would be the right next-step for you.  "Discover" Small Groups are easy to get involved with -- and don't require a long-term commitment.  Many existing groups are looking to welcome newcomers as they start new studies this month, and several brand-new "starter" groups will be starting soon as well.  Click here to better understand what Small Groups are all about. Why they're vital to connecting, growing, and serving at Gateway; and how you can easily get involved.

H2O:

This summer, Gateway will launch a new experience specifically designed for the "Discover" season. If you're looking for a safe and comfortable place to discuss and understand why Christ satisfies our spiritual thirst, this evocative DVD-driven group may be what you're looking for.

H2O will launch this summer. We don't know exactly when, so you can't register yet, but you can fill out this contact card so we can get back to you with more info (please choose H2O from the drop-down menu on the card).

SERVE

If you're in the "Discover" season, you might be interested in serving for widely different reasons. You might be like so many active-minded Americans today -- looking for a way to make an impact that's bigger than yourself. You might be looking to serve as a way of making friends with people who you can talk to about your questions of faith. Or, perhaps you're motivated out of a sense of self-improvement, knowing that when you serve others, your own heart grows.  Regardless of your motivation, the many SERVE opportunities listed here are all open to you.  Read the short descriptions of each opportunity and then click the links for more info or to register.

At Gateway:

Joining a serving team at Gateway is often the first step people take towards making lasting connections at Gateway. Not only do Gateway's great volunteers make the services, events, and activities of the church happen, they also build meaningful friendships with each other. Dozens of different teams have hundreds of different volunteer opportunities. Click here to see just a few of those opportunities.

 As You Do Life:

What do you see when you are moving through your day?  Are you aware of the sights, the people, and the things in your world?  What does your world look like?  Serving “As You Do Life” is a chance to share your individual perspectives of where you do life (your neighborhood, your place of work, your Starbucks) with the Gateway family. In the “Discover” season, you’re asking questions about how faith works in the real world.  Serving “As You Do Life” not only accomplishes great purposes to serve real needs, but it also helps you experience first-hand how faith works.

See a Need?  Fill a need!

As you observe what’s happening as you do life, look for needs and do what you can to help – involving friends whenever possible.  Maybe you hear that your local school needs children’s clothing.  So, you invite friends or neighbors to help you gather donated clothing, sort it, and then deliver it to the school. The opportunities are boundless – since each of us has a different circle of life, we see different needs around us.  Share your insight into the needs around you, or share your experience filling those needs through this blog.

In our city & world...

At the "Discover" spiritual season, people are often motivated to see how faith works out in the real world.  Becoming involved with a one-time trip or long-term activity that serves "the least of these" in our city and world can be a very practical way to experience how faith matters.

Gateway's Mobilization teams are working to organize many one-time and long-term activities in the next few weeks and months.  Click on any title below for more info, including how to sign up.
